Brazil’s leading media and communication conglomerate streamlines its finance, administrative, and HR processes with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and HCM.
“Oracle is a global company, but at the same time, very close to its customers. It is a company that knows its customers and lives and breathes their business environments. Oracle is always willing to do the most to help customers achieve their goals.”
Business challenges
Grupo Globo is the leading media and communications conglomerate in Brazil, with a mission to offer quality experiences through content and services that inform, entertain, and contribute to the education of Brazilians. In 2018, Globo started a project to reorganize its operations, with the aim of unifying five previously separate companies—each using their own on-premises finance, administrative, and HR applications—under the same brand. To support this goal, the company needed to integrate its day-to-day operations into a single IT ecosystem. The integration would allow Globo to simplify its financial, operational, and logistical processes and improve the flow of information within a single system.
With Oracle Cloud HCM, I have a connected HR, with much more data and detailed reporting on all ongoing processes.
Why Grupo Globo chose Oracle
After evaluating various options, Globo selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). The cloud native applications would provide the company with access to more robust and up-to-date technologies. Oracle's experience working with international partners in various industries was also a differentiator that influenced Globo's final decision.
Results
With the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and HCM, Globo’s business management processes became more efficient. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP gave the company a more detailed view of each channel's income, allowing for more agile and assertive investment and divestiture decisions. Financial closings were previously completed on the seventh working day of each month. Today, the company closes up to the fifth working day, a time reduction of 28.5%.
Globo’s infrastructure, logistics, and supply areas also gained more efficiency. Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement helped the company create an inventory of all purchased items and establish a more efficient flow of demand and delivery. Also, Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM helped Globo to consolidate information on different HR processes into a single database, making it easier for employees to access data about vacation time, pay receipts, health benefits, and other information. Meanwhile, the integrated AI capabilities in Oracle Digital Assistant brought more agility to employee service. Because employees can more easily find important information, Globo reduced help desk calls by more than 40%.
